As a recognized leader in the specification, design, development, validation and production launch of advanced vehicle and powertrain systems, IAV Automotive Engineering deploys a leading team of technical experts, engineering tools and program processes from its North American Headquarters in Novi, Michigan.IAV is currently looking for an innovative and experienced Technical Sales Consultant - Propulsion, Hybrid and Fully Electrified Systems to join our dynamic team at our North American Headquarters in Novi, Michigan.Essential Responsibilities & Activities:As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible promoting and selling our products and services, leveraging comprehensive technical expertise to articulate the benefits and practicality of our offerings to customer's technical units. Maintaining strong relationships with technical customer's technical leads, bridging the gap between your technical departments and the customer's. Overseeing various diverse market domains, they generate invaluable insights that contribute to organizational growth, pinpoint product enhancements, and inspire innovation. This position will be part of the team that builds customer relationships, sales and marketing activities of IAV, build on a global network of experts within IAV.Drive sales of the company's engineering products and services to both new and existing clientsLeverage an existing network of industry contacts to generate new businessDevelop substantial relationships with technical leads on the client side by providing expert support, advise, and understanding of the company's offeringsWork closely with the Account Management Team to align sales strategies and fully utilize the company's resourcesServe as a bridge between the technical departments and the Account Management Team, ensuring effective communication and collaborationInitiate and supervise the formation of new technical teams based on customer demand and market expansionDeliver presentations and demonstrations that explain complex technical issues in simple terms for customers and potential clientsAssist in the preparation of sales forecasts, keep track of sales records, and continuously monitor market trendsParticipate actively in organizational development and strategic planningOther duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of proven experience as a Technical Sales Consultant or similar role in the automotive engineering sectorExisting network of potential clients and industry contactsRobust foundational domain knowledge in Powertrain System Development (ICE, Hybrid, EV) and in particular ECU development for Powertrain Systems. Eagerness to learn new technologies and expand domain knowledgeExpert ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear languageExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on creating and delivering presentations effectivelyProject / Program Management experienceProficiency in MS PowerPoint softwareStrong networking and relationship building skillsSolid knowledge of sales strategies and industry regulationsDemonstrable problem-solving abilities and analytical thinkingWillingness to travel frequently for client meetings and industry eventsProficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
