In support of their needs, we are looking for a Software Development Engineer 2.Job Description:Job Title: Software Development Engineer 2 Job Type: Contract Job Location: Santa Clara, CAWork Schedule: On-sitePay Rate: $50, Based on experienceDescription:As a Software Engineer, you will be serving as the technical bridge between POET (an internal training team for Design and Engineering Community), instructional design, IT, and the end users.The individual in this role applies software engineering principles and instructional design practices to design, develop a scalable digital learning environment with custom features, integrated data flows, and automated workflows that enhance training delivery and operational efficiency.This role is responsible for driving process innovation, drive accountability with IT through deep technical expertise, and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all POET applications & resource releases. By designing AI-driven solutions and automating workflows, the ideal candidate will enhance learning experiences and ensure seamless collaboration across business units.Essential Job Duties1. Technical Leadership & Accountability:Leverage SQL/data analytics to evaluate system performance, data integrity, and user feedback – while working closely with IT for resolving gaps and holding them accountable.Design and implement AI agents to automate repetitive tasks, enhance user workflows, and improve learning outcomes (e.g., chatbots for support, adaptive learning assistants).Analyze learning data (e.g., Learning Management System (LMS) usage, completion rates) to identify trends and recommend improvements.2. Process Hacking & Innovation:Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in learning workflows using technical and creative problem-solving.Prototype and pilot AI-driven solutions (e.g., automated certificate generation, personalized learning paths).Collaborate with stakeholders to reengineer processes for efficiency and scalability.3. Integration & Translation:Translate learning experience and UX/UI requirements into clean, scalable front-end code.Build and maintain reusable LMS components that support consistent learning experiences.Develop client's interfaces that help learners, instructors, and admins navigate content and resolve issues.Collaborate with Learning Experience Designers and Product Managers to clarify requirements and refine learner interactionsWork closely with platform and backend teams to integrate APIs, synchronize learning data, and ensure seamless content deliveryEnsure consistent UI behavior and accessibility across courses, modules, and integrated learning tools4. Testing and Deployment:Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring solutions meet both functional and technical standards.Overall, champion cross-functional collaboration, bridging gaps between POET, instructional design, IT, and learners.Troubleshoot technical issues and fine-tune application performance for scalability and responsiveness5. Content & Platform Management:Curate and manage content libraries in LMS platforms (e.g., Percipio, SuccessFactors), ensuring accuracy and accessibility.Monitor and optimize digital learning tools for performance, usability, and alignment with educational goals.6. Collaboration & SupportOperational and general technical support for the POET team, under direction of leadership, includes but is not limited to:Content, file, and technology managementeLearning support and schedulingCommunication with learners and leaders, as neededPerform other reasonable duties and assist with cross-functional initiatives as requested to support team goals.Required Skills and ExperienceStrong proficiency in Data analytics, Excel, SQLRequired Education and TrainingMinimum BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related fieldWorking ConditionsWork is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 40 pounds.This position may require up to 25% travel to facilitate training sessions at client's sites globally.Preferred Skills and ExperiencePrefer 1- 3 years of experience in data analytics function.Familiarity with Appian low-code automation platform is preferredFamiliarity with JIRA, Confluence, Agile methodologies, Qualtrics, Zoom, MS Project, and Smartsheets.Exemplary skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PPT)Ability to learn to configure, develop new application platforms.Strong organization, time management and multi-tasking skills, and able to prioritize workload with competing priorities.Collaborative teamwork, communication and data handling skillsExcellent attention to detail, yet flexible in approachSelf-starter, able to work independently with limited supervisionGood written and verbal skillsExceptional documentation and organizational skillsStrong work ethic with a willingness to go above and beyond; self-directed and resourcefulProven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively across all levels and cross-functional teams About Maxonic:Since 2002 Maxonic has been at the forefront of connecting candidate strengths to client challenges.
