Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by population served (homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, medical issues, domestic violence, etc.) Bachelor’s degree preferred; or a minimum two years’ experience working with homeless individuals, preferably those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Life Skills Instructor will utilize a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach in a professional manner to teach adults, living with serious mental illness, the skills they need in order to reach their individual recovery goals.

The HARPS program utilizes peer support and housing assistance to engage individuals in ongoing behavioral health treatment, reduce homelessness, and support the recovery and resiliency of individuals with serious mental illness.
