The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Law Enforcement Specialist, Explosive Detection Canine Handler (EDCH). In addition to other law enforcement and physical security training requirements, the incumbent must successfully complete the basic EDCH training course at the designated FPS Canine Academy and any other training or remedial EDC training course established by FPS. The incumbent must satisfactorily complete training and receive formal certification as an EDCT to remain in the position, as well as to be promoted.
