Information Governance Data Governance Analyst

We are a Firm where people truly believe in what they do and strive to achieve the highest standards of performance and success.General DescriptionThe Information Governance (IG) Data Governance Analyst is a valuable part of the Knowledge & Innovation (K&I) team, providing assistance and support with regards to the implementation, review, and maintenance of Firm policies, procedures and best practices related to data governance, data migration, data quality and the retention and disposition of data. Under the direction of the IG management, the Data Governance Analyst supports the following: data cleansing, data profiling, firm administration checks, lateral attorney onboardings and offboardings, policy and process execution, and IG software management.Key Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsAbility to implement and enforce firmwide procedures to support the Information Governance programAbility to support governance projects through performance documentation, summaries, status updates, and scope managementStrong cross-functional collaboration skills with other Information Governance teams and stakeholders on ongoing projects and assignmentsAnalytical and reporting capabilities, including the creation, tracking, and interpretation of reports, metrics, dashboards, spreadsheets, and pivot tablesAbility to assist in the coordination of key aspects of all information governance tasks that are assigned, including appropriate control over the maintenance, protection, retention, and disposition of records in accordance with legal and business requirementsAbility to track day-to-day issues; log, identify, assess, and communicate progress to management including audit results and key metricsReview and assist with Firm's records retention and disposition schedulesProficiency in the use of Information Governance software and other technological applications, tools, systems and softwareOngoing commitment to ensuring compliance with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practicesInventory digital and physical records to accurately identify and classify records in various repositoriesFamiliarity with monitoring external sharing platforms and supporting decommissioning and risk-reduction effortsRequired Qualifications & EducationA minimum of 3+ years of Information Governance and/or Records and Information Management (RIM) experienceProficiency with standard legal information governance language, software and systems, including retention and disposition tools and technologiesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with particular strength in data analysis, reporting, and presentation materials (e.g., charts, graphs, pivot tables)Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, resource-management, including the ability to effectively communicate results of assigned workloadCritical thinker, with methodical analytical and decision-making skillsAbility to adapt to an evolving work environment and effectively handle multiple priorities and tasks with tight deadlinesAbility to interact with technical, supervisory, and managerial level staffLaw firm experience preferredKnowledge of Information Governance principles and practices preferredPreferred Qualifications & EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceKnowledge of Information Governance principles and practices strongly preferred.Law firm experience strongly preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Moderate or advanced keyboard usageThis position may be filled in Washington, District of Columbia or Colorado. The base salary ranges for this position are listed below. These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
