Sr. Software Engineer - Python TS/SCI Clearance

Senior Software EngineerPosition OverviewWe are an established government contractor working on top projects within defence and communications. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-quality software systems. The role focuses on leading technical efforts across the stack, mentoring engineers, and delivering robust solutions that meet user and business needs. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in modern languages, frameworks, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices.Active TS/SCI Clearance is required for this position. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain backend and frontend components across distributed systems with high standards for performance, reliability, and security.Lead technical design and architecture discussions; translate product requirements into maintainable, testable implementations.Develop and review code in Python, C++, Java, TypeScript, and JavaScript; write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code.Build and maintain APIs and microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Node.js; ensure services are containerized and deployable using Docker and Kubernetes.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to define UI/UX requirements and deliver exceptional user interfaces using React and modern frontend tooling.Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to accelerate delivery while preserving quality.Operate and optimize cloud-based deployments, monitoring, and cost management in public cloud environments.Perform code reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent recurrence while improving system observability and reliability.Manage tasks and development workflow using Agile practices and tools such as JIRA; communicate status and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.7+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems, with demonstrable ownership of complex projects.Proficiency in Python and experience with Matlab for algorithm prototyping or numerical analysis.Strong experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and modern frontend development patterns and tooling.Solid backend experience with Node.js and Java (Spring Boot) and familiarity with C++ for performance-sensitive components.Hands-on experience designing and operating applications in cloud environments and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.Good understanding of UI/UX principles and experience collaborating with designers to deliver user-centered products.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tooling such as JIRA; excellent communication and leadership skills.Experience mentoring engineers, performing code reviews, and advocating for best engineering practices.BenefitsCompensation Range $120-160k DOE- Health / Vision / Dental / Life Insurance - Supplemental Life Insurance- 401k contribution- Equity Incentive Plan- Performance Bonus- Vacation / PTO / Sick Days- Company Social Events- Employee Development Email Your Resume In Word ToKatherine.Tempel@cybercoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
