Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus availableOpportunity:/nSurgical Tech - Surgical Tech Cardiac/n/nJob Details:/n• Work 36 or 48 hours per week with DEN rotation schedule/n• Weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts per unit needs/n• Provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiac surgical procedures/n• Assist surgical team from scrub position during operations/n• Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases/n• Maintain sterile technique and safe handling of sharps/n• Perform surgical counts as per hospital policy/n• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of registered nurse/n• Care for patients undergoing CABG's, TAVI's, VAD's, ECMO, artificial heart procedures, and heart transplants/n• Must be able to scrub and circulate/n• 2 years recent experience in cardiac operating room required/n• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as Surgical Technician required/n• NY Tech License required/n• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) required/n• Operating room experience in level 1 trauma preferred/n/nFacility:/nThis major academic medical center features a specialized Adult Cardiac OR that cares for a wide variety of cardiac patients using a multidisciplinary approach.
