Maintenance Technician Soil Building Systems – Dallas, TX Full-time | On-site About Us: Soil Building Systems (SBS) is a leading manufacturer and distributor of organic landscaping materials, including compost, mulch, and soil blends, serving commercial contractors, landscapers, and municipalities across North Texas. We operate a fast-paced, hands-on yard and production facility where teamwork, safety, and quality are top priorities. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance and repair of heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, grinders, screeners, etc.) commercial trucks, and trailers. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, resourceful, and capable of troubleshooting issues across multiple equipment types—from electrical and hydraulic systems to diesel engines and conveyors. Responsibilities: · Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on loaders, excavators, grinders, screeners, and other mobile and stationary equipment · Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues · Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records · Support production teams by minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and quick response to breakdowns · Assist in organizing the parts room and maintaining adequate inventory levels · Collaborate with operations staff to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance · Adhere to all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times Qualifications: · 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment, industrial, or diesel maintenance (preferred) · Have own tools (preferred) · Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills · Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics · Welding and fabrication experience a plus · Valid driver’s license (CDL not required) · Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team · Fluent in English Schedule: · Full time · SBS operates seven days a week; must be available to work weekends as needed Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Vision insurance Ability to Commute: Dallas, TX 75229 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Dallas, TX 75229: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
