Our team is composed of seasoned entrepreneurs, scientists, and operators, and we're backed by top-tier investors.Position Overview:MyOme is an early stage startup with seasoned entrepreneurs looking for a bioinformatician to join the team and help expand the role of genetic information in personal and family health decisions. You will collaborate with the research and engineering teams to develop and implement analytic pipelines, computational analysis, and interpretation of biological data. We are looking for an experienced bioinformatician or data scientist with a strong background in human genetics. This role will report directly to a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist.What You'll Do:Work with bioinformaticians and engineers to manage, process, analyze and interpret genomic dataIdentify and develop tools for NGS data analysisDevelop and test algorithms for incorporation into a production pipelineDesign and implement quality control processesHelp design and conduct clinical validation study plans and reportsWork with our Clinical Lab Director to make sure all algorithms comply with regulatory standardsWhat You'll Need:Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in computational biology, computer science or a related field3+ years experience in industry analyzing NGS data Coding fluency such as Python or RExperience with bioinformatics tools including bcftools, samtools, bedtools, etc.Ability to implement new tools and evaluate open source tools quickly Familiarity with genomic databases such as UCSC, NCBI (dbSNP, Clinvar), EnsemblFamiliarity with public datasets such as 1000 Genomes, UKB, All of UsExperience with detecting and interpreting different types of genetic variantsExperience in statistical analysis of genetic dataExperience managing computational tasks in a cloud environment (AWS or GCP).Solid understanding of the Linux environment and shell scriptingExperience working with next-generation sequencing data (exome, genome, RNASeq) and/or long-read technology (Nanopore, PacBio)Experience with Nextflow is a plusExcellent communication and presentation skillsExperience working within a hybrid and/or remote teamLocation, Compensation, and Benefits:Location: Hybrid role, 2 days onsite at our Menlo Park, CA campus.Compensation: Annual salary range is $120,000 - $150,000, based on experienceSan Francisco Bay Area pay range: $120,000 USD - $150,000 USDBenefits:Comprehensive healthcare coverage (Health, Dental, and Vision)401KUnlimited PTOProfessional development opportunitiesCompany-sponsored off-sites and team meals during in-person meetingsDirect access to company leadership and the opportunity for career growthDiversity, Inclusion, and Equal Opportunity:MyOme values diversity in all forms.
