Portfolio Analysis Director (Remote, US Based)

This position is remote based, we are open to candidates across the United States. Role Overview The Portfolio Analysis Director will support enterprise-level decision making at a leading molecular diagnostics company by evaluating proposals for product portfolio, and long-term value creation initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of Corporate Strategy and Planning and Finance partnering closely with R&D, commercial, operations, and executive leadership to inform high-impact strategic decisions. The ideal candidate is a high-performing strategic thinker with a deal-side mindset, who combines strong analytical and financial modeling skills with a deep understanding of diagnostics markets, product development lifecycles and project portfolio composition. Responsibilities Strategy & Portfolio AnalysisDevelop framework for opportunity and portfolio evaluation as part of annual 5-yr roadmap planningSynthesize data across Market Intelligence and Product Strategy, Operations, Project Management, Tech, R&D, Finance and Data analytics teamsEvaluate strategic options across the molecular diagnostics portfolio, including product development, evidence generation, and infrastructure investmentsSupport portfolio prioritization decisions by assessing tradeoffs across risk, return, timing, and strategic fitUpdate program and portfolio value for review at quarterly intervals and recommend project prioritizationFinancial & Valuation AnalysisBuild and own enterprise financial models (DCF, NPV, IRR, scenario analysis) to assess long-term value creation of initiativesQuantify the financial impact of potential R&D, operations, and product decisionsPartner with Finance and FP&A to align long-range plans with strategic prioritiesPartner with Investor Relations to understand investor valuation perspectives of portfolio and financial decisionsExecutive Decision SupportDevelop concise, executive-ready presentations and materials for senior leadership and board discussionsTranslate financial information into clear recommendationsSupport annual strategic planning and long-range planning processesQualifications RequiredBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or STEM related field 4-7 years of experience in investment banking (healthcare group), or private equity Expert-level proficiency in complex financial modeling and "clean-sheet" problem-solving Experience working with ambiguous, incomplete data to support decision making Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferredExperience in molecular diagnostics, life sciences, biotech, or healthcareFamiliarity with diagnostics product development lifecycles, regulatory pathways, and reimbursement considerationsExperience in corporate strategy and planning and/or strategic portfolio planningMBA or CFA designation is highly preferredExperience supporting executive or board-level strategy discussionsCore Competencies Strategic thinking and structured problem solving Ability to challenge and influence executive stakeholders with data-driven conviction Financial and valuation analysis Comfort with ambiguity - ability to build structure around "messy" data Cross-functional collaboration Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations Strong attention to detail with a big-picture mindset Physical RequirementsLifting Requirements - sedentary work or exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
