Human Resources Bachelor's InternThis internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working from the following location: 100 S. Los Robles Ave., Pasadena, CA 91101. The Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine (KPSOM) Office of Human Resources partners with leaders, faculty, and staff to build and sustain an inclusive, innovative, and high performing academic community. Our team develops and delivers HR programs, services, and strategies that support the schools mission while fostering a culture of belonging, collaboration, and excellence. We work closely with Kaiser Permanentes Regional and National HR teams to ensure alignment, leverage shared expertise, and provide high quality HR support across recruitment, employee experience, talent development, and organizational effectiveness. Internship projects include: Learning & Shadowing - Shadow, learn, and inquire about the various HR functions within KPSOM. Observe onboarding sessions, recruitment processes, and HR operations to build foundational HR knowledge. Primary Project: HR SharePoint Revamp & Knowledge Hub Modernization - Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current HR SharePoint site, identifying outdated, redundant, or missing content. Review existing HR templates, documents, and resources for accuracy and consistency. Benchmark HR SharePoint sites and knowledge hubs from other organizations to identify best practices. Redesign the sites information architecture, improving navigation and ease of use. Draft updated or newly written content, including descriptions, resource pages, and FAQs. Create a more modern, visually appealing layout using SharePoint web parts, banners, icons, and tiles. Develop a standardized style guide for HR SharePoint content going forward. Present recommendations and a final SharePoint modernization plan to the HR team. General HR Support - Assist with recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews and managing candidate communications. Support employee engagement and experience programs. Support onboarding and offboarding processes. Maintain and organize HR records and documents in alignment with compliance expectations. Participate in employee engagement, learning, and development activities. Conduct research on HR best practices, policies, or labor regulations as assigned. Prepare internal reports, summaries, and presentations. Draft HR job aids, process maps, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal or external use. Essential responsibilities: Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective. Report development and analytics. Project management - planning, execution, and measurement. Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives. Job shadowing in other functional areas. Performing additional duties as required. Basic qualifications: Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. Additional requirements: Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Preferred qualifications: 3.0 GPA or above. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
