With over 60 years of experience, Lapmaster has a proven history of successfully developing cost effective processing solutions for applications requiring precision sizing, flatness, parallelism, roundness, straightness, and surface finish.The Company is looking for an experienced and motivated full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team.Position Objectives:Reconcile customer payments and customer accounts by optimizing financial systems and transactionsCreate and maintain customer relationships through professional communicationIdentify slow-paying customers and recommend collection candidatesIdentify and communicate customer account discrepancies to management teamCollaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to provide exceptional customer supportAssist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvementExercise integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of positionPosition Responsibilities:Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure up to date aging reportsGenerate timely and accurate customer invoices, including service and freightMonitor incoming payments and ensure they are applied correctlyProcess and apply credit card paymentsProcess product returns and credits as requiredProcess credit and re-bills as requiredPrepare, review, and analyze aging reports to identify trends and recommend solutionsProduce and send customer statements as requiredResolve discrepancies between customer payments and invoicesAddress customer inquiries and concerns related to paymentsWork with other departments to resolve billing issues or disputesMake collection calls as needed to resolve past due invoicesCreate new customer master information and monitor for on-going accuracyResearch customer history to assess and recommend credit limitsReconcile Accounts Receivable ledger with the general ledgerAssist with month-end closing activities such as preparing journal entriesWork with external auditors and third-party collection agencies as requiredAssist in the preparation of the annual budget and long-term financial objectivesEnsure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to accounts receivableEducation / Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or professional certifications in specific Accounts Receivable related fields. Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable positions, preferably in a manufacturing environmentOther Qualifications:Detail oriented and results focused.
