Data Analyst III (Contract)Job Type: 26 Week Contract / TemporaryLocation: Remote - Philadelphia, PAOverviewSeeking a highly analytical Data Analyst III to drive business decisions through advanced data analysis, strategic insights, and KPI optimization. This role is responsible for transforming large, complex datasets into actionable recommendations that support business strategy, operational improvements, and performance measurement.The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to clearly communicate insights to stakeholders at multiple levels.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced data analysis on large, complex datasets using multiple analytical techniques to drive improvements in KPIs and business objectivesDevelop methodologies, establish baselines, and independently execute recurring or related analytical projectsApply industry best practices to ensure accurate measurement, KPI development, and statistical significanceWrite and optimize complex SQL queries across multiple platforms while maintaining performance best practicesServe as a subject matter expert (SME) for data sources, owning data selection, methodology, and validation processesConduct data validation and identify inconsistencies; collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions and resolve anomaliesPartner with data quality and architecture teams to support data ingestion, automation, and reporting needsCreate reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate analytical findings and business recommendationsDevelop compelling data visualizations that clearly convey insights and support strategic decision-makingTranslate technical methodologies into clear, concise messaging tailored to various audiencesIdentify trends, shifts in performance, and relationships between dependent KPIs to inform business strategyPlan, manage, and execute projects independently; proactively communicate progress, risks, and timelinesUtilize tools such as JIRA to track tasks, manage workflows, and ensure project transparencyParticipate in cross-functional initiatives, team processes, and knowledge-sharing activitiesSupport continuous improvement in reporting, analytics, and operational processesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (MBA preferred)3–4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related fieldStrong experience working with large-scale relational datasets•Technical SkillsAdvanced SQL (including Teradata or similar platforms)Tableau or comparable data visualization toolsAdvanced Microsoft ExcelAdvanced PowerPoint (Think-Cell preferred)Experience with Python, R, or data modeling tools (preferred) Core CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate hypotheses and derive actionable insightsAbility to work with complex datasets and identify trends, anomalies, and root causesBusiness acumen with understanding of KPI development and performance measurementExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiencesProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesDetail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, quality, and sustainabilityCollaborative team player with a proactive, solution-oriented mindsetComfortable receiving and incorporating feedback in a fast-paced environmentAdditional ExpectationsAbility to work flexible schedules as needed to support business requirementsStrong organizational and time management skillsCommitment to producing high-quality, value-driven analysisActive participation in team collaboration, process improvement, and knowledge sharingTechnology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
