Floating Maintenance Technician

DescriptionThe Floating Maintenance Technician provides maintenance and repair support across multiple apartment communities as needed. This role is responsible for ensuring that properties are well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing by responding to service requests, completing preventative maintenance, and assisting with unit turns. The ideal candidate is adaptable, skilled in multiple trades, and comfortable traveling between properties.ResponsibilitiesTravel between assigned properties across the entire Jones Street Portfolio 5 days a week, Monday through FridayAdapt to varying site needs Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and appliance repairRespond to and complete work orders in a timely and professional mannerAssist with apartment unit turns, including make-ready repairs and inspectionsConduct preventive maintenance to minimize future repairsTroubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues efficientlyEnsure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policiesMaintain accurate records of work performed and materials usedCommunicate effectively with property managers, residents, and vendorsProvide on-call or after-hours emergency maintenance support as requiredRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3 years of apartment or residential maintenance experience preferredWorking knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairsEPA Universal Certification preferred (or ability to obtain)Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation requiredAbility to use hand and power tools safelyStrong problem-solving and time management skillsFlexibility and adaptability to work across multiple locations with different teamsStrong customer service and communication skillsAttention to detail and commitment to quality workAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionTravel 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, between apartment communities located in New England and the Mid-Atlantic
