Rehabilitation Counseling Internship
If you are a current YAI employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.The Rehabilitation Counseling Intern will participate in a supervised clinical internship supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities in achieving employment and community integration goals. Under the supervision of a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), the intern will gain hands‑on experience in rehabilitation counseling, vocational support, and person‑centered service delivery.Responsibilities IncludeProviding supervised rehabilitation counseling and vocational support servicesAssisting with job readiness, employment planning, and supported employment activitiesParticipating in vocational assessments, workplace readiness, and employment stabilizationCollaborating with job coaches, counselors, employers, and interdisciplinary teamsCompleting accurate, timely documentation in compliance with OPWDD, ACCES‑VR, and agency standardsParticipating in weekly individual supervision and professional development activitiesQualificationsEnrollment in a graduate‑level Rehabilitation Counseling or related programStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsInterest in working with individuals with disabilities in community‑based settingsAbility to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standardsThis is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students.
