PROPWR Technical Training Manager

This career site is for external applicants only.Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Training & Development Manager for PROPWR is responsible for creating, overseeing, and continuouslyenhancing structured training and competency development systems for PROPWR’s field workforce. Thisposition manages the entire training process, from onboarding new employees to advanced technical, safety,and leadership programs, ensuring that operators, technicians, and supervisors are well-qualified,competent, and equipped to safely operate and maintain a growing multi-technology fleet.The objective of this role is to develop industry-leading power generation operators and technicians throughdisciplined, technically thorough, and safety‑first training programs that contribute directly to fleet reliability,operational excellence, and scalable growth.ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain a structured, role-based training framework for equipment operators, technicians, leads and supervisorsEstablish clear progression paths, prerequisites, and competency gates for each role levelOwn training standards, documentation, curricula, and revision controlDevelop and maintain technical training programs for gas turbine packages, reciprocating engine packages, and ancillary equipment used in power generation operationsEnsure training content aligns with OEM guidelines, engineering standards, and industry best practicesBuild structured onboarding programs for new hires by role and asset typeDefine qualification requirement and field sign-off criteria prior to independent workEnsure consistent onboarding experience across regions and asset deploymentsDefine and document technical, safety, and leadership competencies for each roleEstablish evaluation methods that include written assessments, hands-on evaluations, field performance sign-offs, and certifications/re-certificationsPartner with HSE to ensure training programs support site safety, electrical safety, and company HSE standardsIntegrate coaching, mentorship, and accountability expectationsPartner with Operations, Engineering, and Asset Integrity to align with reliability goals, failure learnings, and new asset introductionsIncorporate field feedback and performance data into training updatesTrack training effectiveness and continuously refine programs based on outcomesReinforce safe work practices, Stop Work Authority, and adherence to all HSE policies.Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practicesPerform other duties as assignedJob Qualifications5+ years experience in power generation operations, maintenance, or technical trainingDemonstrated experience with gas turbines and/or large reciprocating engine power generation packagesTechnical certification or Associate degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline preferredExperience with CAT G3520 and Solar SMT60 turbine packages, preferredProven experience designing and administering structured training programsStrong working knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements applicable to power generationAbility to translate complex technical concepts into effective training materials Caterpillar and/or Solar OEM training or certification background preferredStrong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain rapport with leadership, clients, and team members.Strong decision‑making skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesMaintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact professionally with clients, leadership, and team membersProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 and ability to learn additional softwareMust be physically able to sit or stand for long periods, work indoors and outdoors, and withstand extreme weather conditionsMust be physically able to safely operate a Company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditionsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those required for an employee to successfully perform the role’s essential functions.
