You'll own features end-to-end across secure client portals and enterprise-grade B2B systems, from architecture to deployment. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role on a small team where your decisions directly shape the product.What You'll DoDesign and build scalable backend architectures for client and lawyer portalsImplement AI-powered workflows including document generation, case evaluation, and conversational interfacesBuild and maintain secure APIs in Node.js/TypeScript for internal and client-facing applicationsEnsure systems meet compliance requirements for legal documents, client data, and financial transactionsTranslate complex legal workflows into intuitive digital experiences alongside stakeholdersUse AI development tools (Cursor, Copilot, v0) as a primary part of your daily coding workflowOwn features from conception through deployment with measurable impact on user outcomesWhat We're Looking ForMust-haves7+ years shipping fullstack TypeScript in production (React/Next.js and Node.js)Proven ability to deliver complete features end-to-end with measurable business outcomesStrong PostgreSQL or relational database design skillsExperience building production APIs with proper error handling, monitoring, and documentationHands‑on cloud platform experience (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable)Daily use of AI coding tools for the majority of your development workBased in NYC and able to work in‑officeNice‑to‑havesExperience at a high‑hiring‑bar tech company or VC‑backed startup (Seed–Series C)Shipped a production AI feature: RAG, LLM integration, agents, embeddings, or semantic searchCurrently working at a startup or growth‑stage company under 1,000 employeesYou already use AI tools to move faster and architect better, not just autocomplete.
