2D Drafter – Industrial Process SystemsContract-to-Hire OpportunityPosition OverviewThe 2D Drafter supports engineering teams by producing accurate, high-quality drawings for industrial water and process systems. This role is primarily focused on developing and maintaining P&IDs using AutoCAD Plant 3D, with additional support for layout and fabrication drawings.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain P&IDs in AutoCAD Plant 3D based on engineering inputDevelop general arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, and detailed viewsSupport fabrication drawings for piping, frames, and skidded systemsIncorporate redlines, RFIs, vendor data, and as-built updatesEnsure drawings meet company standards, client requirements, and codesCoordinate with engineers and project teams to resolve design issuesSupport drawing packages for submittals and construction (IFC)Maintain organized CAD files, revisions, and QA/QC checksRequired Qualifications3–7 years of drafting experience in an industrial EPC or design/build environmentStrong AutoCAD Plant 3D experience (P&IDs)Solid understanding of piping systems, layouts, and drafting standardsAbility to read PFDs, specifications, and engineering markupsPreferred ExperienceFabrication drawings (piping, skids, supports)Exposure to water treatment, chemical, or semiconductor environmentsFamiliarity with isometrics, line lists, and basic BOMsExperience coordinating with fabrication or construction teamsEducationAssociate degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent experienceAdditional InformationContract-to-hire opportunityMinimal travel (occasional local fabrication shop visits)Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.85/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
