**Discover a more connected career**At Telcom Construction, as a Technician Field Make Ready Inspector, you are responsible for identifying potential issues, verifying existing utility locations, and conducts site assessments to prevent delays or safety violations.**Connecting you to great benefits**+ Weekly Paychecks+ Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, and Holidays+ Insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)+ 401(k) w/ Company Match+ Stock Purchase Plan+ Education Reimbursement+ Legal Insurance+ Discounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more!**What you'll do**+ Assessing feasibility and safety for new builds+ Identifying obstructions and make ready work that must happen before construction can begin+ Perform comprehensive field inspections of OSP infrastructure, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber/copper networks, to ensure all elements meet construction, safety+ Collaborate with field crews, supervisors, project managers and customer teams to resolve issues identified during the inspection process+ Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, network diagrams, GIS maps+ Generate precise inspection reports, documenting all findings, including defects, non-compliance issues, and required corrective actions (redlines)+ Working knowledge of OSP construction techniques, practices, and materials for aerial and underground utilities+ Proficiency with measurement tools, testing equipment, and electronic devices (e.g., tablet, GPS devices) for field data collection+ Follow installation milestones and support project activities as directed by management+ Work overtime, travel, and handle on-call or after-hours responsibilities as needed, and perform duties in all weather conditions+ Other duties as assigned**What you'll need**+ To be 18 years of age or older+ Authorization to work in the United States for this company+ Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record+ 3+ years of relevant work experience in telecommunications OSP construction, installation, maintenance, or inspection (fiber, coax, copper)**Additional qualifications**+ Quality control experience preferred+ Associates Degree in an industry related field or equivalent work experience+ Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunication construction industry standard practices+ Knowledge of Customer Installation Standards and Documentation**Physical abilities & exposures**+ **Routinely** : work alone in remote locations, operate vehicle, squeeze, bend, stoop, stand, walking, climb stairs, use keyboard and mouse+ **Physical Requirements:** Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.+ **Occasionally** : work at heights, use ladder, life greater than 55 pounds**Why grow your career with us**Your career here is more than just a job - it's your pathway to opportunity.
