The position reports to the Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach on all matters related to the position description listed below.Essential DutiesAssist the Head Coach in on-court instruction as well as various aspects of the operations of the tennis programs as assignedAttends practices and games, assists in planning and running practices, analyzing and presenting practice/game film and stats, creating opponent scouts, maintaining effective communication with current student-athletes, and other duties under the supervision of the Head CoachAssists with other matters concerning the team, including (but not limited to) recruiting, inventory, academic support, camps and clinics, executing and maintaining aspects of the program’s social media sites and other mattersMay drive institutional vehicles to and from practices and games. Is capable of leading the team in the event of the absence of the Head CoachMust comply with all College, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and Liberty League rules and policies, and adheres to policies and procedures contained in the Bard College Staff HandbookThe Head Coach And Other Athletic Department Staff Will Assist The Right Candidate In Finding Other Employment Opportunities, Which Could Include The FollowingCoaching opportunities with local youth clubsCollege recruiting events and showcasesBard and external camps and clinicsOther positions within Bard Athletics and at Bard College more broadlyBard will provide assistant coaches with opportunities to further their coaching development and education, including coaching courses, clinics, and licensure, as well as attendance at coaches’ conventions.QualificationsExperience as a player and/or coach is recommendedMust be able to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekendsMust be able to travel as needed for competition and recruitingMust have interest in supporting an environment in which students of all experience and ability levels and from diverse backgrounds are supported and encouragedTo ApplyPlease submit a resume, cover letter and list of three professional references to Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/151466.Compensation: $17,500This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting.
