Senior Project Manager - Ductwork Systems

McCorvey Sheet Metal is a family-owned and operated company with offices in Houston, Orlando, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. We specialize in large-scale commercial construction projects, including hospitals, research labs, stadiums, and institutional facilities.We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead duct system scopes on major commercial projects in the Houston market. This role is critical to driving execution—coordinating between VDC, field operations, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest level of quality.What You’ll OwnAs a Senior Project Manager, you will take full ownership of your projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a strong focus on coordination, execution, and field alignment.Lead project execution for duct systems across multiple large-scale jobsDrive coordination between VDC, field teams, vendors, and internal departmentsEnsure performance against cost, schedule, and quality targetsAct as the primary point of contact for project communication and issue resolutionSupport field operations to maintain productivity and efficiencyKey ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & ExecutionManage RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentationMaintain drawing sets and ensure accurate document controlCoordinate closely with VDC to support efficient duct-only detailing and releasesFacilitate project kickoff meetings and ongoing coordination effortsProcurement & Vendor ManagementSolicit and manage vendor pricing for change proposalsRelease ductwork and associated equipment (VAVs, fire dampers, grilles, etc.)Track material deliveries and ensure alignment with project schedulesResolve material discrepancies, damages, and missing itemsField & Operations SupportMaintain consistent communication with field foremen (minimum 3x per week)Coordinate delivery schedules and installation prioritiesTrack field documentation, including daily reports, delays, and manpowerSupport labor planning and equipment utilization to drive efficiencyProject Controls & ReportingMonitor and update project schedules and milestonesMaintain change proposal logs, RFI logs, and cost trackingTrack duct leakage testing and reportingAssist with collections and outstanding invoice follow-upsWhat We’re Looking For7+ years of experience in mechanical/ductwork project managementStrong background in large-scale commercial construction projectsProven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyExperience working with VDC/BIM coordination teamsStrong communication skills with both field and office teamsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive mindsetFamiliarity with Smartsheets and CAD/BIM tools is a plusWhy Join McCorvey?Work on large, complex, high-profile projects Be part of a family-owned company with accessible leadershipStrong internal support from VDC and operations teamsOpportunity to grow into senior leadership rolesFast-paced, high-performance environment for driven professionalsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay (based on experience)Weekly payMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401(k) with company participationProfit Sharing ProgramPaid Time Off + 7 Paid HolidaysReferral Bonus ProgramFree lunch on Fridays
