SNI Companies is looking for a Financial Analyst / Grants Accountant to support our client in the Jacksonville, FL area. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of previous, relevant experience and possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field.90-Day Contract-to-Hire Position Pay Rate: $36.00 an hour (pay increase after 90-days) Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (on-site required)Financial Analyst SummaryThe position is responsible for the coordination of the financial, contractual and compliance functions for research, national, state & private grants. Works closely with Finance Manager and Associate Director to coordinate and improve applicable accounting processes. Compiles and generates various financial analyses during the year. Works closely with the Finance Manager to Lead, coordinate, and improve accounts payables invoicing and accounting processes. Responsibilities:Creates designs and implements processes and procedures related to fiscal management and budget development for ten funding sources. Coordinates and assists program managers with division's Federal grants and State contracts budget development based on input, historical trends, forecasts and projections for contracts and grants, tracks approval and progress and provide updates.Enters and manages proposals, agreements, and awards utilizing internal database and PeopleSoft Financials Grants. NOAs are issued and projects are setup.Responsible for effort reporting and assists with divisional faculty and staff distribution reports.Lead accounts payable processes, manage and monitor vendor invoicing, sets up accounts, pays divisions bills, reconcile program income, and assists with the division's purchasing needs ensuring compliance and submits correcting journal entries.Reconciles reports and transactions, tracks contracts & grants balances.Ensures that the program's contracts and grants are properly expensed, and in collaboration with the project managers and finance team, ensures they are closed in a timely manner.Prepares sponsor invoices, statements and reports on monthly basis and coordinates transmittal of payments to be applied to projects.Documents the division's financial processes and procedures and recommends enhancements for all Finance, Pre and Post Award SOP's.
