Full Stack Developer
Position Title: Full-Stack Angular/Java developerLocation: RemoteOther Considerations: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required)Position SummaryWe are seeking a Full-Stack Angular Developer to support the VA T4NG Consolidated Corporate Support Services (CCSS) program serving our Department of Veterans Affairs Corporate Portfolio clients across the entire U.S. The ideal candidate will have extensive AngularJS and SQL experience.As a Full Stack Developer you will collaborates closely with Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, architects, developers, testers, and VA stakeholders to ensure successful delivery across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate is skilled in building and maintaining Angular applications, integrating Jira-based back‑end workflows, and developing custom Java plugins.ResponsibilitiesProvides guidance and best practices for successful AngularJS upgrades and/or modernizationsDesigns, develops, and tests new features in VA provided applicationsResponsible for regular communication with colleagues involved in all development processesCan perform analysis, implements, tests, and can troubleshoot bug-fixesResponsibility for design and implementation of software projects using C# and the most current Angular frameworkDetermines user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programsDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java codeDevelop Java based applications, APIs, and backend services (Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices)Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance optimizationIdentify bottlenecks and bugs and develop solutions to mitigate issuesPrepare and produce releases of software components Document development processes and codebase structuresEnsure software standards are met, and all IT solutions comply with federal regulations, VA security policies, and industry best practicesFrequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniquesReceives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectivesAct as a technical advisor and consultant to VA stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations on IT strategy and solution designFacilitate workshops and meetings to communicate architectural concepts and gather feedback from VA representativesImplement security measures to protect sensitive VA data and maintain the integrity of IT systemsConduct regular reviews and audits of solutions to ensure ongoing compliance and performanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field and five (5) years or more experienceAbility to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI)AngularJS - 14 (at least) and/or up to and including 18 (min req Angular 4 years)Strong experience with backend development including plugins and APIsStrong proficiency in Java and core OOP concepts. (min req Java 4 years) Experience with Spring Boot, REST API development, SQL, and microservices architecture. Familiarity with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and version control (Git). Ability to design and implement Java‑based applications in alignment with business objectives. Basic HTML5 and CSS3, JavaScript 5.x, TypeScript 4.x, Bootstrap 5.x, JQuery 3.6.xMS SQL Server (ability to write stored procedures, understand SQL, create tables, and manage DBs)Experience with HTTP web server, reverse proxy, content cache, load balancer, TCP/UDP proxy serverVisual Studio knowledge/experience (versions 2019 - 2022)Strong work ethic with ability to manage workload and deliverables under tight deadlinesSelf-starter with a positive attitude and very good interpersonal skillsCan work autonomously and efficiently in a remote environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal government software development programs.Jira backend integration WORKING CONDITIONSStandard Business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting. Travel may be required from time to time for customer meetings and industry events.PAY RANGEThe base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000 annually, depending on geographic work location, relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, security clearance, and contract requirements.
