Project Estimator (Commercial)

This role supports continued growth by improving estimating accuracy, bid organization, and cost tracking across active projects.Position OverviewThe Estimator will support both general contracting and electrical estimating for commercial interior and retail construction projects. This role will manage estimates from bid invitation through project completion, including takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, bid packages, cost tracking, and post-job profitability review. The ideal candidate has hands-on estimating experience, understands commercial interiors and electrical scopes, and can help standardize estimating and cost-tracking workflows as the company grows.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and review bid invitations, project drawings, and scope requirementsPrepare estimates for commercial interior construction and electrical scopesPerform takeoffs and pricing using Buildertrend, Excel, or other estimating tools as neededCreate bid packages for subcontractors and suppliersRequest, track, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricingPrepare breakdowns of selected subcontractors, materials, and technician labor hours required for each jobCompile and send RFIs to subcontractors, engineers, owners, or project stakeholders when clarification is neededTrack project costs, receipts, and labor hours in Buildertrend or Excel throughout the project lifecycleMonitor project profitability and compare original estimates against actual tracked costsRun post-job cost reviews to identify estimating errors and improve future bidsPrepare subcontractor purchase orders and material lists after bid awardHelp standardize estimating, takeoff, bid packaging, and cost-tracking processes across the teamQualificationsRequired QualificationsApproximately 3+ years of construction estimating experienceExperience estimating commercial interior construction projectsExperience with electrical estimatingAbility to manage bids from invitation through project completionAbility to perform takeoffs, prepare pricing, and build organized estimatesExperience creating bid packages and coordinating subcontractor pricingExperience or exposure to RFIs, subcontractor outreach, and supplier coordinationStrong ability to read drawings and understand construction scope requirementsComfort with software-based estimating and cost tracking using Buildertrend, Excel, or similar toolsStrong English communication skills for coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholdersAbility to work independently and contribute to process improvement in a growing companyFluent in English (C1/C2 level)Preferred QualificationsPrior Buildertrend experience, including takeoff, project management, or cost-tracking workflowsExperience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating toolsExperience with U.S.-style commercial bidding processesExperience preparing subcontractor purchase orders and material procurement listsExperience supporting interior fit-out, tenant improvement, retail, restaurant, salon, mall, or strip mall projectsProcess-oriented mindset with the ability to improve estimating tools, templates, and workflowsWork Environment & CompensationLocation: Remote (LATAM Applicants Only)Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week - EST Schedule)Compensation: $12/hour USD (~$2,000/month)Project types include commercial interiors, retail spaces, tenant improvements, and electrical subcontracting scopesTypical project size ranges from approximately $30,000 to $800,000We look forward to reviewing your application.
