12-Month School SecretaryQualifications:High school diplomaPost high school training in secretarial procedures preferred, but not requiredGood typing and data entry skillsOperational knowledge of computer hardware and softwareExcellent communication and personnel skillsReports To: Building principal or designeeJob Goals: Employee performs a variety of responsible and complex clerical procedures requiring independent judgment and action in accordance with school policies and practices.Performance Responsibilities:Distributes all incoming mail.Answers school phones. Takes messages for school principal, teachers and staff. Insures that individuals receive their messages in a timely fashion.Makes announcements on building intercom as directed.Maintains student enrollment information, attendance registers, and prepares information.Maintains student Honor Roll.Prepares and distributes emergency calling list.Maintains petty cash account.Types all correspondence from building principal, including teachers observations, discipline (bus and school) and newsletter.Maintains records on student lunch information.Maintains teacher attendance records.Prepares end-of-year student awards.Prepares student placement information.Assists substitutes.Performs other office related tasks as assigned by the building principal.Terms of Employment: 12-Month YearEvaluation: Annually by the Building Principal and Board of EducationSalary: $56,173-$68,109Benefits Package Includes: Medical, prescription, and optional dental insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Optional Disability Insurance (AFLAC, Prudential, and American General)Pre-Tax Deduction OptionsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)
