Terminal Manager/ Operations - Columbus, OH
Job Description The Terminal Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the terminal. At the Columbus Terminal this includes management of around 25 Class A CDL drivers, an on-site maintenance and truck washing facility and a satelite customer location.This position reports directly to the Regional Terminal Operations Director.Primary Job Duties:Manage the day to day operations of the facilitiesResponsible for work schedules and workload assignments for hourly operations employeesCoach and mentor CDL A drivers to ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices with scheduling and dispatch functions handled by a separate team.Address customer related challengesFinds logical, safe and efficient solutions to assist in the growth of the operationResponsible maintaining the West Harrison, IN customer facility operationsOversee terminal employeesSome travel requiredResponsible for hiring, training, coaching, disciplining and supervising direct reportsEnsure terminal practices, policies and procedures are understood and executedOversee employee safety, satisfaction and performanceEnsure compliance with all safety related requirementsDocumentation of performance discrepanciesResolving and/or elevating employee concerns as appropriatePromote clean and safe working conditionsComplete required data elementsAnalyze operations data and reports to promote terminal efficiencyCommunicate and collaborate with other company terminals and departmentsRepresent the company and carry out duties in a professional manner Job Requirements Must have at least 4 years of management experienceBachelor's degree preferredKnowledge and Skills:Must be able to comprehend and comply with policies and comprehend instructions.Must have excellent computer and typing skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees and customers both verbally and in writing.Must be able to perform basic mathMust hold a valid driver's license and be able to move vehicles from time to time.Must be motivated and able to work independently to complete assignments.Physical Responsibilities:Must be able to wear and use required safety equipment.May be required to perform physical work on occasion and/or for extended periods of time, including: walking/standing, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, climbing, etc.Must have manual dexterity to operate any controls and or equipment.May be required to climb trailers if necessary and be comfortable with heights.Must be able to perform required tasks outside in various weather conditions.Ethical Compliance:Will comply with all company rules & regulations.Will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
