Role Description DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS — RESIDENTIAL METAL ROOFINGLocation:Delaware , Ohio area (in-person)Reports to: Owner/FounderABOUT USWe're a fast-growing residential metal roofing company based in central Ohio. We're on track for $5-6M in revenue this year with a clear path to $10-12M next year. We install premium metal roofing systems for homeowners across central Ohio, and we're known for quality work, real warranties, and treating customers the way we'd want our own families treated.We're at the inflection point where the founder can't run everything anymore — and the business needs a strong operational leader to scale what we've built.THE ROLEYou'll own day-to-day operations of the business. That means production, scheduling, materials, crew management, job costing, customer experience after the sale, and the systems that hold all of it together. You'll run the back end so the founder can focus on growth, sales leadership, and strategic decisions.This isn't a corporate seat. You'll be on job sites, in the shop, on customer calls, and in the trenches with crews when needed. It's also not a glorified production manager job — you'll have real authority over hiring, vendor relationships, process design, and operational strategy.WHAT YOU'LL OWN• Production scheduling and dispatch — keeping crews productive, jobs on time, and customers informed• Materials procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships• Job costing and gross margin per job — protecting profitability as we scale• Crew management — hiring, training, performance, and retention of installers and foremen• Quality control and warranty management• Safety program and OSHA compliance• Customer experience post-sale — the handoff from sales to production, install day, and post-job follow-up• The CRM stack (Leap, Roofr, GoHighLevel, Sales Ask) and the automation layer that connects them• Operational reporting and KPIs that give the founder real visibility into the business• Building the org structure underneath you as we growWHAT YOU AND THE FOUNDER WILL OWN TOGETHER• Strategic decisions about growth, market expansion, service offerings• Senior hiring decisions• Budget and capital decisions• Major vendor or partnership relationshipsYOU'RE A FIT IF YOU HAVE• 5+ years running operations in residential roofing, residential exteriors (siding, windows, gutters), residential flooring install, or a comparable trades-based residential service business• Or 5+ years as a branch manager or operations leader at a roofing distributor (ABC Supply, Beacon, SRS, etc.) or building products distributor• Direct experience hiring, training, and managing field crews — not just office staff• Real fluency with construction CRMs (JobNimbus, AccuLynx, Leap, Roofr, ServiceTitan, or similar) and ideally comfort with workflow automation• Demonstrated ability to own a P&L or significant operational budget• A track record of taking a business from messy to organized• Comfortable in steel-toes one day and a strategy meeting the nextYOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU• Want real ownership and authority, not a corporate title• Are excited about building something rather than maintaining something• Take pride in unsexy operational details — the schedule that runs on time, the margin that holds, the customer surprised by how good the experience was• Communicate directly and don't sit on bad news• Treat installers and crews with genuine respect• Want a path to grow with the company, including potential equity participationWHAT WE OFFER• Base salary $110K-$145K depending on experience• Performance bonus tied to gross margin, on-time completion, and revenue growth — year-one target $20K-$40K• Path to equity participation for the right person who proves themselves• Real authority and decision-making scope• A founder who will be in the trenches with you, not above you• Health benefits, paid time off, vehicle allowance• The chance to help take a $5-6M business to $10-12M and beyondTHIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF• You want a corporate environment with HR, multiple layers of management, and clearly defined lanes• You're looking for a step-down role to coast in• You don't enjoy being on job sites and in the field• You expect to delegate everything and direct from an officeTO APPLYSend your resume and a brief note about why this opportunity interests you to [YOUR EMAIL].
