Maintenance II/Landscaping

Salary : $35,356.00 - $53,034.00 Annually Location : Springdale, AR, AR Job Type: Full-Time Department: Public Works Department Opening Date: 05/26/2026 Closing Date: 8/26/2026 4:00 PM Central FLSA: Non-Exempt Description The incumbent is responsible to perform ongoing maintenance of lawns and landscaped areas under the care of the Public Works Department. Safety/Security Sensitive Designation: This position is classified as safety/security sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is therefore subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Job DutiesProvide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.Perform lawn mowing, trimming and edging.Operate brush hog and specialty mowing equipment.Perform weeding and watering of landscape areas.Plant landscape areas as directed.Trim trees and shrubs.Act as crew leader for small landscape crew.Perform general maintenance duties as directed.Mosquito maintenance.Perform other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training.Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License.Master Gardener certification or equivalent training/experience preferred.Must be proficient in the use of a work truck, tools, and various maintenance equipment.Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects.Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.Experience installing and maintaining landscape projects is preferred. Supplemental Information Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
