Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction.Every day, you will deliver compassionate, hands-on care, which includes, but is not limited to: assisting patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, feeding, basic hygiene); performing basic patient care activities such as vital signs, observation and reporting of signs and symptoms of disease state, posturals, and simple dressing changes. You will also assist in patient mobility such as ambulating, turning, positioning, and range of motion exercises; perform EKGs; and conduct bedside testing like blood glucose, colon screening, and dextrose secretions.To be successful in this role, you will possess a dedicated spirit of service, strong communication skills, a meticulous approach to patient support, and an unwavering commitment to our mission of dignified, high-quality healthcare.Job RequirementsRequiredHigh school diploma or GEDCompletion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing programCurrent certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or active NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing CommissionCurrent healthcare provider American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certificationExcellent organizational, oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skillsBasic skills in using a PCMust be able to lift, move or assist patients using proper body mechanicsThe ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs.Where You'll WorkVirginia Mason Franciscan Health brings together two award winning health systems in Washington state - CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason.
