Assistant Supervisor Production - Night Shift

The Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting in shift start-up, fulfillment of customer demands, and coordination of people and materials. This individual will assist in the supervision of the production of finished goods in keeping with the standards established regarding quality of product, safety of operations, yield, line efficiency, and productivity. The Individual should be familiar with Ilapak Baggers, Hayssen Baggers Bosch, Baggers and Ishide scales or similar.Duties and Responsibilities:Participates in set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of packaging lines and supporting equipment/systems.Responsible for trouble shooting packaging equipment problemsEnsures that lines are supplied with all necessary componentsKeeps inventory on packaging components and confirms there are enough components for the line to run completelyInspects coding machines to ensure code number is in reference to lot numberAssigns packaging personnel to positions on the lines at the beginning of the shiftAssigns packaging personnel clean up dutiesTrain packaging machine operators and line equipment operatorsJob Qualifications:Some college or vocational school preferredTwo or more years related experience or equivalent food processing experience and GMP knowledge is plusAbility to manage priorities and workflowVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmKnowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceBasic computer skills required.Highly-motivated person who is able to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentTeam-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work days, nights and weekends as necessaryCapable of working in a cold (34 degrees F) and wet environmentOther Information:The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed, as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
