The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Python development and AWS cloud architecture, with a proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and deployment of scalable applications using Python and AWS cloud servicesArchitect and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, etc.)Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers, conducting code reviews and enforcing best practicesCollaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processesEnsure application performance, security, and scalability across cloud environmentsDrive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormationTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stackParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical roadmap planningStay current with emerging AWS services and Python ecosystem trendsQualifications8+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong proficiency in Python5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC)Proven experience in a technical lead role, guiding development teams and driving architecture decisionsStrong experience with RESTful API design and microservices architectureHands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, etc.)Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB)Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Datadog, etc.)Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and Agile methodologiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Preferred SkillsAWS Certification (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or DevOps Engineer)Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven designFamiliarity with data engineering/ETL pipelinesExperience in Agile/Scrum environments leading sprint planning and retrospectivesKnowledge of security best practices in cloud environments (IAM policies, encryption, compliance)Pay range and compensation packageCompensation details will be discussed during the selection process.Equal Opportunity StatementSurgeTech Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
