CNC Flat Laser Programmer/Operator – 2nd ShiftLocation: Wellford, SCSchedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AMCompensation: $30.00 per hourPosition Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-HireAbout the OpportunityOur client, Current Tools, is hiring an experienced CNC Flat Laser Programmer/Operator to join its second-shift laser department in Wellford, SC.This position is responsible for translating engineering blueprints and sketches into accurate laser-cutting programs for sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming and operating fiber, CO₂, or Mitsubishi laser equipment and be comfortable working with CAD/CAM software, nesting parts, completing quality inspections, and troubleshooting production issues.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laser programmer or operator who combines strong technical skills with attention to quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.What You’ll DoCreate flat-pattern layouts and CNC programs for laser-cutting equipmentUse CAD/CAM and nesting software to program parts for sheet metal fabricationRead and interpret engineering blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work instructionsOptimize part layouts and nesting to reduce material waste and improve machine efficiencySelect appropriate tooling, machine settings, and manufacturing methodsWrite, edit, and troubleshoot laser programsSet up, operate, and monitor laser-cutting equipmentPerform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet specificationsAssist with production and troubleshoot equipment or programming issues as neededCollaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teamsPrepare work instructions, setup sheets, and required production paperworkMaintain organized and accurate program filesFollow all laser-safety procedures, EHS policies, and housekeeping standardsSafely operate a forklift when required and properly trainedMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaReport defective tools or equipment to the appropriate supervisorWhat We’re Looking ForPrevious experience programming laser-cutting equipment for sheet metal fabricationExperience with fiber, CO₂, or Mitsubishi laser systemsProficiency with CAD/CAM or nesting software such as SigmaNEST, Dr. ABE, Sheetworks, AutoCAD, or SolidWorksStrong blueprint-reading and flat-pattern-development skillsUnderstanding of G-code, GD&T, and sheet metal material propertiesAbility to write, edit, and troubleshoot CNC laser programsExperience performing visual and dimensional quality inspectionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate partsGood mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a production environmentClear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, maintenance, and production personnelDependable attendance and a safety-focused approach to work
