Flat Laser Programmer

Recruiting Solutions is seeking an experienced Flat Laser Programmer/Operator for a precision metal fabrication company in Wellford, South Carolina. This second-shift position pays $30 per hour ($28 per hour plus a $2 shift differential) and offers a four-day workweek, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The Flat Laser Programmer/Operator will translate engineering drawings into accurate laser-cutting programs, optimize sheet-metal layouts and support production to ensure parts meet customer specifications.Benefits included:$30 per hour, including a $2 second-shift differential Four-day workweek: Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Medical, dental and vision plans available through Recruiting Solutions Consistent full-time schedule with three-day weekends Flat Laser Programmer/Operator Job Responsibilities:Use CAD/CAM and nesting software to create flat-pattern layouts and CNC programs for sheet-metal laser cutting. Read and interpret engineering blueprints, sketches, specifications and written or verbal instructions. Develop and optimize nesting layouts to reduce material waste and improve machine efficiency. Write, edit and troubleshoot laser programs and select appropriate machine settings and tooling. Set up and operate flat laser equipment while supporting production needs and resolving machine or program issues. Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify completed parts meet specifications and quality standards. Prepare setup sheets, standardized work instructions and required production documentation. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production personnel to address technical or manufacturing concerns. Follow all laser-safety, forklift, housekeeping and environmental health and safety requirements. Flat Laser Programmer/Operator Requirements and Qualifications:Previous experience programming and operating fiber, carbon dioxide (CO2) or Mitsubishi laser-cutting equipment in a sheet-metal fabrication environment. Proficiency with CAD/CAM and nesting software such as SigmaNEST, Dr. ABE, Sheetworks, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or a comparable platform. Ability to write, edit and troubleshoot CNC laser programs; working knowledge of G-code is required. Strong blueprint-reading, flat-pattern development and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) skills. Knowledge of sheet-metal materials, laser-cutting parameters and dimensional inspection methods. Ability to safely operate a forklift or complete required forklift training. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, organization and communication skills. Ability to work second shift Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
