Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine

The Outpatient Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team at Cooley Dickinson Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients with pulmonary and sleep-related conditions at our 10 Main Street location in Florence, Massachusetts. Services include evaluation and management of chronic respiratory diseases, diagnostic sleep testing, and treatment for a wide range of sleep disorders. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative outpatient setting focused on improving long-term respiratory health and quality of sleep. We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This position includes two 8-hour shifts (Mondays and Tuesdays) in Sleep Medicine, two 8-hour shifts (Thursdays and Fridays) in the Lung Nodule Clinic, and one 8-hour administrative day on Wednesdays. This role does not include call responsibilities, nights, weekends, or holidays. Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. Yes Essential Functions -Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting. -Performs complete histories and physical examinations. -Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. -Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. -Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. -Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries. -Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.EducationMaster's Degree Physician Assistant requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsPhysician Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only requiredExperienceExperience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred3+ years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required, preferably in Pulmonary and/or sleep medicine.
