Part-Time Afterschool Program Assistant Now Hiring for Fall 2026 Looking for a rewarding part-time job? The Connection, a nonprofit community organization serving Summit and surrounding communities, is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and caring individuals to join our Afterschool Program team. This position is ideal for college students, aspiring educators, recent graduates, and anyone who enjoys working with children in a fun, active, and supportive environment. Position Summary As a Part-Time Afterschool Program Assistant, you will support the Site Director in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching afterschool experience for elementary-aged children. You will help facilitate activities, assist with homework, supervise participants, and contribute to a positive environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Essential Responsibilities Assist with the daily operation of a five-day-per-week afterschool program Support children with homework and academic activities Help facilitate games, enrichment activities, recreation, and social engagement Use positive behavior management techniques to encourage participation and success Supervise children during program activities and transitions Provide one-on-one support to participants as needed Attend required trainings and staff meetings Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule Positive, energetic, and engaging approach to working with youth CPR/First Aid Certification required within three months of hire Schedule Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 2:45 PM – 6:00 PM School-Year Position (10 Months) Follows the Summit Public Schools Calendar Compensation $15.92 per hour Part-Time Benefits Paid Sick Time 401(k) with Employer Match (after eligibility requirements are met) Transit Reimbursement Program Free On-Site Parking Employee and Family Membership Discounts Discounted Access to Fitness, Aquatics, and Youth Programs Why Join The Connection?
