POSITION TITLE: Laser Operator (2nd Shift)REPORTS TO: Industrial SupervisorPOSITION SUMMARY: The function of the Laser Operator is to ensure that all laser machines at Martinrea are maintained and in proper safe working order.ResponsibilitiesMust work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the companyEnsure Machine Set-up meets production and quality goalsTraining and monitoring of all operators in the correct and safe use of equipmentEnsure all machines are operating at maximum efficiency and utilizationPhysically maintain laser machines and equipment at MartinreaMust ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift endFollow Machine Safety Guidelines, ensure proper lock out procedure are followed at all timesMaintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standardsResponsible to provide own tools as required to fulfill dutiesOn call for emergencieAll other duties as assigned by Supervisors and ManagersAbide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee HandbookCOMPETENCIES (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience)High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical proceduresComplete understanding and knowledge of lock out proceduresAbility to read drawings, blueprints, schematics and manualsAbility to incorporate technical reportsVast knowledge of laser equipment requiredable to use measurement toolsWORKING CONDITIONSWorking in a plant environmentFrequent distractions and interruptionsMultiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated environment, can be noisyLift up to 50lbsEFFORT - PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDSConstant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy), ocassional climbingWarm/Cold temperaturesCommunication with Supervisors and ManagementOvertime as required, 24 hour on callPersonal Protective Equipment RequirementsSteel toe safety shoesSafety glassesEar PlugsGloves
