Vice President, People & TalentLocation: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused Vice President of People & Talent to lead and scale the HR function within a high-growth, private equity–backed organization in healthcare. This role will partner closely with the CEO and executive team to drive value creation through people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence.This is a critical leadership position for a hands-on builder who thrives in performance-driven environments and has experience aligning talent strategy with aggressive growth objectives, operational rigor, and investor expectations.What You’ll DoStrategic Leadership & Value CreationAct as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team on all people-related matters tied to growth and value creationDevelop and execute a people strategy that supports scaling, operational efficiency, and long-term enterprise valuePartner with leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership capability to support rapid growth and potential M&A activity HR Infrastructure & ScalabilityBuild and optimize HR infrastructure, processes, and systems to support a scaling organizationEstablish disciplined, repeatable processes across the employee lifecycle with a focus on efficiency and consistencyLeverage HR data and analytics to drive business insights and decision-makingPerformance & AccountabilityImplement performance management frameworks that reinforce a high-performance, results-driven culturePartner with leadership to drive accountability, goal alignment, and measurable outcomes across the organizationSupport development of leadership bench strength and succession planning Total Rewards & Incentive AlignmentDesign and oversee compensation structures that align with market benchmarks and performance outcomesImplement incentive programs that support business objectives and align with investor expectationsOversee benefits strategy with a focus on competitiveness and cost management Talent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningLead talent acquisition strategy to attract high-caliber talent in competitive marketsEnsure hiring plans are aligned with growth targets, operational priorities, and financial objectivesSupport workforce planning in dynamic and evolving business conditions Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure full compliance with federal, California, and local employment lawsProactively manage organizational risk and maintain strong governance practicesPartner with legal and external advisors as needed Payroll & Operational ExcellenceOversee payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and scalabilityEstablish strong internal controls, audit readiness, and process discipline Employee Experience & CultureDrive a culture of performance, accountability, and engagementLead initiatives that enhance employee experience while supporting business outcomesBalance a people-first approach with the demands of a fast-paced, results-oriented environment Team LeadershipBuild, lead, and develop a high-performing HR team aligned with business prioritiesFoster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the function What You Bring12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4+ years in senior/executive leadership rolesExperience in private equity–backed, high-growth, or transformation environments strongly preferredProven track record of building and scaling HR functions in evolving organizationsStrong business acumen with the ability to link people strategies to financial and operational outcomesDeep expertise across HR disciplines (employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, HRIS, payroll, organizational development)Strong knowledge of California employment lawExperience supporting M&A, integration, or organizational transformation is a plusBachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plusKey StrengthsStrategic and commercially minded leader with strong execution capabilityComfortable operating in fast-paced, performance-driven environmentsAbility to build structure and drive results amid ambiguity and changeStrong influencing skills and executive presenceHigh integrity and commitment to disciplined, compliant operations This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a private equity–backed growth journey in a multi site healthcare organization. You will help build the people, processes, and infrastructure needed to scale the organization, drive performance, and maximize enterprise value. Compensation target of $200k base salary plus bonus and equity.
