Position Information:
This position is on-site in Hodges, SC.
Domestic relocation is available for this position.
Role Definition
Assists with technical analysis of manufacturing processes in all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing. Role will focus on the processes tied to the Core Making and Molding of Sand for manufacturing purposes at the Hodges Foundry. This role will primarily be focused on the capitalization upgrades for the molding process and needed upgrades. Continuous improvements for the rapid improvements needed to increase velocity and reliability of the mold making process.
Responsibilities
Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control for Sand Core and Mold Making.
Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process for Sand Core and Mold Making.
Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making for Sand Core and Mold Making.
Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency for Sand Core and Mold Making.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational for Sand Core and Mold Making.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent foundry experience
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Lean Manufacturing: Basic understanding of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Manufacturing Processes: Working knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies, and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
Manufacturing Safety: Working knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment, and site.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Working knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Problem Management Process - MFG: Basic understanding of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies, and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
