CNC Programmer/Operator
Position Overview:
The CNC Programmer/Operator is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs to support efficient machining operations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex drawings and design data. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively with team leads to ensure projects stay on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and write CNC programs to support machining operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to specifications.
Communicate regularly with the lead or supervisor regarding project status, scheduling needs, and any potential issues affecting workflow.
Maintain organized and up‑to‑date program files, documentation, and related records.
Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and design data to determine machining strategies, tooling requirements, and optimal cutting paths.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized CNC work area, following company safety standards and best practices.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD for interpreting and working with design files.
Strong understanding of speed and feed rates, cutting parameters, and machining best practices.
Knowledge of Tool and Die procedures, tooling selection, and machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T.
Strong math and computer skills to support programming accuracy and problem‑solving.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in CNC programming and operation preferred.
Background in manufacturing, machining, or tool and die work is a plus.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
