This role coordinates the logistics needed to deliver successful projects across Marion County, working closely with program staff, volunteers, and partners. The position requires a detail-oriented leader who can balance planning with hands-on work in the field.Because KIB's work takes place across multiple neighborhoods and project sites, the Asset and Logistics Manager must maintain a flexible work schedule to support program operations and logistical needs. This role requires the ability to travel to and support multiple project locations as needed. Early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends may be required during peak program seasons. The Asset and Logistics Manager must be available, when requested, to respond to logistical needs at project sites to ensure staff and volunteers have the tools, equipment, and materials necessary for successful events and program delivery.Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:Asset ManagementOversee KIB's fleet, equipment, and supply inventory, ensuring all assets are safe, functional, and properly trackedDevelop and maintain systems for equipment checkout, return, repair, and replacementCoordinate routine maintenance schedules for vehicles, tools, and machineryEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulationsLogistics and OperationsPlan and coordinate the distribution of supplies and equipment for tree plantings, cleanups, youth programs, and other KIB projectsSupport staff and volunteers by anticipating logistics needs and ensuring timely delivery of materialsManage vendor relationships, including rentals, repairs, and supply purchasesIdentify and implement efficiencies to reduce costs and streamline logistics processesCollaboration and Team SupportWork closely with program staff to forecast upcoming asset and logistics needsProvide training on safe and effective use of tools and equipmentSupervise program staff, seasonal crew, or volunteers as neededFoster teamwork and accountability by modeling KIB's core values in daily operationsComplete any additional duties as assigned in support of the mission of KIBKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of fleet and equipment management, inventory systems, and logistics coordinationFamiliarity with safety standards and environmental regulations related to vehicles, tools, and materialsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with inventory or asset-tracking software preferredEffective written and verbal communication skills to engage with staff, vendors, and community partnersAbility to lead and motivate staff, seasonal crews, and volunteersSkilled in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and resourcefulness in both office and field settingsAbility to adapt to changing conditions, including working outdoors in varied weatherCommitment to KIB's mission, values, and community-focused approachEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Environmental Studies, or related field; or equivalent work experience3-5 years of professional experience in logistics, operations, or asset management.
