Machine Operator

3rd SHIFT MACHINE OPERATOR 9:00PM - 7:00AM (must train on 1st shift for 2 weeks/7:00am-5:00pm) ASSIGNMENTS The Kuster Operator is directly responsible for operating the Kuster and inspecting materials in accordance with orders or specifications, with the least possible amount of waste and maximum quantity and quality. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS Mount rolls of paper on unwind stand, thread the paper through calendar rolls and to the rewinder. Set calendar for proper caliper of finished material. Inspect the processed material for defect and remove defective material. Select running speed as required to obtain quality and efficiency. Wind material into finished rolls of specified size, yardage, and weight. Maintains proper tension on the web to maintain desired stretch. Splices material as instructed, seals and removes processed rolls to the packing table, recores and installs shaft in the winder. Keep the working area around the machine in orderly condition. Notify supervisor of excessive defective material. Accept direct supervision from the supervisor. Complete all miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
