We engage farmers and buyers in conversations and agreements to grow food for our community institutional buyers such as schools and hospitals and to support the coordination, logistics, and transactions that help feed our most vulnerable populations. Role DescriptionThe Southwest Indiana Regional Value Chain Professional (VCP) will work with a team and under the direction of the Deputy Director of FARMWISE Indiana to advance values-aligned institutional food purchasing across Indiana. In partnership with other organizations, agencies, and businesses who support food supply chains, the Regional VCP’s will address regionalized food system needs using an asset-based approach to strengthen and foster connections, facilitate sales, and build relationships and trust necessary for long-term impact on local food economies and community health.QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher or more than 5 years experience in food supply chains, food business ownership or entrepreneurship, food service management and other related workSoftware proficiency and technology including MS Office Suite, Google Workplace, smart phones, copier, online meeting softwareDependable and resilient self-starter with an interest and experience in taking on new challenges and overcoming obstacles with little supervision Comfortable being in a highly flexible work environment and have ability to respond to needs while maintaining balance of the work Outstanding organizational, record keeping, and data management skills Superior listening, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to network and collaborate with multi-agency/state initiatives Ability to travel within and outside of the state, including hours that are not tied to our workweek of M-F 9a-5pWillingness and ability to use personal cell phone and vehicle to perform regular job duties (with compensation)
