Operations Controller

Job Description Job is located in Chagrin Falls,OHWe are a Small buiness drinking water company B2B with approximately 60 employees seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This is a key role for someone who enjoys working in a small business environment, partnering closely with leadership, and building strong financial processes that support growth.The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and confident in managing both the big picture and the day-to-day accounting work. This person should be comfortable wearing multiple hats, improving processes, and communicating clearly with management, staff, vendors, and outside partners.What You Will DoAccounting and Financial OversightOversee the daily operations of the accounting functionManage communication with the outside CPA firmMaintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsOversee accounts receivable and help ensure timely collectionsOversee accounts payable and help ensure vendors are paid accurately and on timeOversee payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on scheduleManage cash flow, reporting, and forecastingReconciliations and Month-EndPrepare monthly account reconciliationsEnsure monthly bank reconciliations are completed accuratelyReconcile inventory and costing on a monthly basis, including communication with key suppliersMonthly reconiitaions at month's endHelp ensure debt obligations and recurring payments are made on timeWork closely with the outside CPA firm to support a timely month-end closeMaintain fixed asset recordsReporting and PlanningPrepare timely and accurate financial statementsTrack financial and operating metricsAnalyze budget-to-actual results and report significant variances to managementRecommend benchmarks to measure company performanceSupport management reporting and cost analysisAssist with annual budgeting and forecastingAdministrative and Business SupportOversee company insurance and 401(k) relationshipsCommunicate directly with banking partners regarding company credit facilitiesIdentify areas for improvement and help implement stronger processes and controlsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required5+ years of accounting experience in a Controller, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar roleStrong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and WordStrong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, cash management, and general accounting processesExcellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and a hands-on, problem-solving mindsetExperience with inventory accounting or cost reconciliation is preferred, but not requiredWhy This RoleThis is an opportunity to join a stable, growing small business where your work will have a direct impact on the company's financial health and operational success.
