Cost Accounting Manager
Controller A growing, highly specialized manufacturing organization is seeking a Controller to support a blend of FP&A, cost accounting, and operational finance activities. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is comfortable owning financial performance, partnering closely with operations, and helping improve costing visibility and business decision-making in a manufacturing environment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior finance leadership, take ownership of core financial processes, and contribute to a business that is expanding and investing in its finance function. Target base of $95k-$115k, with flexibility for the right candidate, plus bonus eligibility. On-site for first 90 days, then hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote). Portage County. Key Responsibilities: Lead FP&A and cost accounting activities in support of business performance and operational decision-making. Partner closely with operations on budgeting, forecasting, labor and overhead analysis, and financial performance reviews. Maintain and improve standard costing and broader costing processes. Support financial planning cycles, including annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Provide reporting and analysis to help leadership better understand operational and financial performance. Work with ERP and reporting tools to improve visibility, consistency, and decision support across the business. Collaborate with senior finance leadership on key priorities and special projects. Contribute to process improvement efforts related to costing, reporting, and operational finance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience owning finance and business performance within a manufacturing environment. 5–10+ years of background at the Assistant Controller, Director of FP&A, Accounting Director/Manager, or similar level preferred. Advanced Excel skills, including strong analytical and reporting capabilities. Advanced Power BI skills required. Strong ERP experience is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and operations teams. Preferred Experience: Manufacturing finance experience with exposure to standard cost environments highly preferred. QAD experience would be a plus. Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
