Senior Network Engineer - Local to Richardson, TX Only

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and professional engineer who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational support of our corporate network. The successful candidate will possess prior experience in various systems and networking fields. They must be open and willing to take on various tasks and requests and manage them until completion. Additionally, the individual will need to be open to learn and embrace new technologies with the goal of becoming a Subject Matter Expert in multiple areas. This position participates in the 24/7/365 on-call rotation and the individual understands the rigors and challenges of working in an Enterprise IT department. We offer a hybrid work environment with an on-prem / remote work schedule.This position requires a strong understanding of network technologies. Analysts will be called upon to support and troubleshooting complex incidents and outages. Position ResponsibilitiesProvide support to various networking products and technologies such as routing, switching, firewall management, load balancing, WAN optimization and securityProvide firewall configuration, management, validation and supportPrimary responsibilities will be addressing vulnerabilities with code updates or configuration changes as needed to maintain operational health.Identify single points of failure/risks to the business and provide a reasonable solution to remediate the riskMonitor and analyze network and related system performance and provide reports on a regular basis, identify hot spotsActively monitor and react to real-time network conditions to quickly identify and react to issues and outagesMaintains and updates network infrastructure including but not limited to load balancers, WAN Optimization, Wireless Controllers and Access Points, and Solarwinds.Prepares and follows detailed documentation, standards and guidelines, for data and telephony environmentsTakes corrective action to improve system performance; travels to off-site locations to perform related work, if requiredProvide assistance and knowledge transfer to various IT departments on data, network, and voice related functionsQualifications:Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferredCCNP certification preferred but not required5+ years’ experience working knowledge of Network TechnologiesExperience in multi-datacenter, multi-site network topologies utilizing SDWAN and point-to-point WAN technologiesProficient with networking technologies such as GLBP, HSRP, QoS, OSPF, and BGPAbility to manage polices, object groups, VPN configurations and end user supportMust have strong knowledge of multi context firewall environmentsMust have strong knowledge of common Cisco command line interfaceAbility to make good judgments, decisions, negotiate and problem solveAbility to understand and clearly communicate technical information to non-IT personnelMaintain a high level of knowledge regarding the clients computing environmentMust demonstrate strong sense of urgency regarding solving end-user issuesEfficiently and effectively solve problems regarding system errors or usage issuesMust be able to minimize downtime by rapidly diagnosing and resolving problemsBe able to track and document information regarding troubleshooting techniquesMaintain a high level of teamwork and communicationAbility to perform after-hours work for scheduled maintenance and unscheduled issue resolution
