Purchasing Agent

POSITION: Purchasing Agent LOCATION: Saline, MICOMPENSATION: $55,000-65,000SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-4:30pWe're looking to bring on a temporary to permanent Full Time Purchasing Agent, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.Responsibilities of the Purchasing Agent:Assist the Program Management team with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basisReview production schedule and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) reports daily to ensure materials are available to support plant production scheduleCommunicate any problems or issues with meeting materials requirementsWork with the Warehouse team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing productsAggressively seek opportunities for overall cost savings by negotiating: price reductions, vendor contracts, Just In Time (JIT) programs, volume rebates, terms and stocking programsPurchase, budget and track MRO items for the office, production and warehouseResponsible for order procurement, resolution of backorders and shortages, invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable and RMA processing for material returnsMonitor Shortage Report to ensure shortages are addressed promptly and On-Time metric goals are metQualifications of the Purchasing Agent:Associate Degree is desirable with college level courses in Business, Finance or related fieldsVerbal and written communication skills in English is requiredEffective interpersonal skills, both internally and externallyPC literate with good working knowledge of Windows and OutlookWorking knowledge of MRP and/or ERP systemsMathematical skills preferred with the ability to compute rate, ratio and percentagesMust have good organizational and investigation skills being able to plan and execute workload without supervisionBenefits of the Job:Competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits.Health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Account401K and company matchingwith no vesting periodPTO for rest and relaxationGym reimbursement (through Anthem)Employee Assistance ProgramA safe and inclusive work environment with team and management supportEmployee training and developmentCommunity service and philanthropic initiativesEmployee appreciation and eventsCareer advancement opportunitiesEmployee Referral programEmployee discounts
