Job Description Description:Loch Harbour Group, Inc. is seeking a motivated Software Engineer I to support application and automation development efforts in a mission-focused environment. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional seeking hands-on experience supporting software development, system enhancements, user training, and application sustainment activities.The Software Engineer I will work under the direction of senior engineers to support the development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of software applications and automation tools.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide application and software development support for systems and automation tools under the direction of senior engineersAssist in delivering over-the-shoulder and virtual training to government personnel on existing applications and platformsRespond to ad hoc user questions and basic issues related to automations developed by the teamReview source code to understand functionality and assist in identifying improvement opportunitiesImplement assigned code updates, enhancements, and fixes following established development standardsSupport testing and validation of application changes prior to deploymentAssist in developing and maintaining training desk guides, technical documentation, and standard operating proceduresEnsure documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to both junior and senior technical usersFollow secure development practices and applicable coding standardsPreferred Skills (Nice to Have)Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar)Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) conceptsExperience using version control tools (e.g., Git)Exposure to Agile development methodologiesRequirements:Minimum Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as:Electrical EngineeringComputer EngineeringComputer ScienceInformation TechnologyInformation SystemsMathematics or related disciplineExperience RequirementsNo prior professional experience requiredInternship, academic projects, or lab experience highly valuedRequired QualificationsActive Secret Security Clearance (required at time of hire)Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CACompany Highlights:At LHG, we offer our employees a full comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
