Will oversee the restaurant design process to ensure codes and standards are met while achieving the client goals. Responsible for timeline and budget for all phases of the project while leading all consultants, coordination, and general contractors.Core Responsibilities Research the project location, demographics, brand vision, architecture trends, and target market to determine guest experience and architectural intentMeet with the owner, operations, design, and marketing staff to understand project goals and requirementsAbility to coordinate with various stakeholders, negotiate effectively, and build strong relationshipsBuild and coordinate the master schedule with a consultant team to track project durations and scheduleLead, collaborate, and coordinate with architects, engineers, interior designers, lighting designers, and other consultants as requiredStrong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills to communicate to consultant team and general contractorsReview and create complete construction documents, specifications, and detailsEnsure all zoning laws, building codes, sustainability, fire and safety, and accessibility codes are metWork with general contractors to manage sub and vendor relationships, cost, lead time and delivery dates to siteManage, review and respond to all submittals and RFI’s in a timely manner to issue to general contractorsOversee architectural and design mockups and sample reviews as requiredVisit job sites to ensure project coordination, design intent, codes, and standards are being followedCollaborate with general contractors to resolve design or construction issuesProvide cost estimates throughout each phase of the project in collaboration with consultants and general contractorsProvide value engineering solutions when needed without compromising design aesthetic and integrityProvide complete architectural specifications with revisions as requiredAttend a punch walk with general contractors and design team to document owner and design commentsAbility to lead a team and manage multiple restaurant projects simultaneouslyRequirements Degree in Architecture, Licensed Architect a plus8+ years related hospitality/restaurantStrong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills to address design and construction challengesFinancial acumen for budgeting and coordinationStrong leadership, multitasking, and organizational skills for decision makingUnderstanding of building codes, accessibility standards, fire safety regulations, construction processes, and sustainable design practicesProficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, BIM, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative SuitePerksMedical, Dental, and Vision benefits availableProfessional development and career growth as part of a rapidly growing hospitality groupPaid Time OffGenerous dining discounts at all Vandelay Hospitality Group conceptsAll Vandelay Hospitality Group restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and the 4th of July so our team can celebrate with their friends and familyPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work standing and walking for extended periods of timeVandelay Hospitality Group provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other federal/state protected category.
