CNC Mill Operator

CMT JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: CNC Mill Operator Salary Range: $20.00-25.00/hr Purpose and Objectives: · To operate CNC Mill machines at first article proven stage to produce scheduled production rate. Job Description: · Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, drilling, tapping, deburring, first article and in-process inspection. · Must be familiar with the basic machine controls (ex. Fanuc) and functions to perform the tasks stated above. · Understand and maintain required documents (travelers, blueprints, tool maintenance log, daily production log) including Quality records · Perform production data log in to MRP system · Responsible for in-process inspection submission and correction · Understand basic G-code and M-code · Able to produce quality parts to satisfy predetermined standard production rate · Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor · Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations · Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines · Replace tools as required and verify all related dimensions · Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up. · Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels · Performs job assignments in accordance with Job Travelers · Initial or sign and date all documents and revisions as applicable · Performs other work-related duties as assigned Reporting Structure: · Reports To: Production Manager · Key Internal Partners: QA and Engineering Experience and Skills: · 3+years of experience as a CNC Mill Operator v Experienced/Expert level: · Required cutting tool knowledge · Knowledge of basic inspection skills · Knowledge of different CNC controls · Knowledge of different CNC machines(Mori-Seki , Hass experience preferred) · Knowledge of different materials · Basic math skills · Basic Blueprint reading · Knowledge of routing · Knowledgeable of the applicable QMS policies and procedures applicable to the position · Trained in the nonconforming material procedure Description of Ideal Candidate: · Ability to work well with others · Good attendance · Willingness to learn · Flexible in different duties Physical Demands and Work Environment: · The description of the physical demands and the work environment characteristics here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform and those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Safety Glasses must be worn at all times. · The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
