Sr. Platform Engineer - Data Infrastructure

Overview Join Weave's Data Platform Team to design and evolve scalable data infrastructure that powers core products and thousands of customers daily. You will work in autonomous cross-functional teams to translate product goals into engineering plans and deliver high-quality, observable services. The role focuses on enabling data-driven product innovations, data integration, and secure, compliant data tooling at scale. You will collaborate closely with product, frontend, and DevOps to improve data accessibility and platform resilience. ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop core data platform components for business process orchestration and workflowsBuild scalable, resilient services for data integration, event processing, and platform extensionsContribute to evolving product functionality that handles large data and trafficWrite high-quality, performant, sustainable, and testable code with ownership for qualityCoach and collaborate across and outside the team to share expertise and promote best practicesWork in a hybrid cloud setup with distributed components and servicesCollaborate with stakeholders to translate product goals into actionable engineering plans Key requirements3+ years of backend development experience (Go, Java, or Python; Go/Java/C/C++ a plus)Experience moving and storing TBs of data or hundreds of millions of recordsUnderstanding of distributed systems, scalable, redundant, and observable servicesExpertise with messaging systems and NoSQL technologies (e.g., Kafka, Google PubSub, Bigtable, Spanner, Vertica, Vitess, S3, Iceberg)Experience building solutions on public clouds (AWS, GCP)Experience with infrastructure as code and maintaining highly available systemsStrong bias for action, integrity, collaboration, and delivery in enterprise environmentsEntrepreneurial mindset and willingness to learnTrack record of delivering complex projects on timeteam-oriented collaborationstrong communicationproblem-solving mindsetGo, Java, or Python backend developmentdistributed systems and scalabilitydata platforms and data engineering
